Sahara appoints Gleeds, International Management and Construction Consultant for Sahara City Homes Chain of Townships

New Delhi, 19th November, 2008: Sahara appoints International Management and Construction Consultants Gleeds to provide consultancy and project management for the development of its Sahara City Homes brand of townships in 217 cities of India.

Gleeds will provide specialized support to Sahara City Homes in the process of construction supply chain, Quality, Health and Safety management. Gleeds has over 120 years of experience in the building and construction industry and currently employs over 1200 people in 13 countries across 5 continents. Gleeds was amongst the many construction management companies of international repute which have been reviewed by Sahara Prime City Limited. The company was selected on the basis of their past records, quality of work and capability of handling mega projects.

Sahara City Homes is a flagship real estate project of Sahara Prime City Limited, under which a chain of 217 townships each spread over 100 to 300 acres are planned to be developed across India. The air conditioned townships offers one to five bedrooms residential units in the category of high-rise and mid-rise apartments, independent row houses and independent bungalows. The townships are planned to provide a quality community living by offering amenities such as club and community center, hospital, shopping mall and multiplex, school, hotel and club, uninterrupted power and water supply, multilevel security, retirement home, local transport and Central park with playground equipped with floodlights. Essential services like Convenience Stores, Banking, and Postal services etc. will ensure convenience for the residents. A Service Center just a phone call away will take care of all Plumbing, Electrical Repair and Taxi requirements. A combination of AC and Non-AC buses would provide good commuting facilities. Each Sahara City Homes township is planned to have 55% - 60% of its total land area dedicated to greenery and open spaces with integrated landscaping.

Development of the townships is taking place in phase wise manner. Sahara City Homes townships have already started taking shape with the development and construction in full swing in the cities of Lucknow, Nagpur, Indore, Ahmedabad, Gwalior and Coimbatore. Development work is under progress in the Sahara City Homes townships of Jaipur, Aurangabad, Solapur and Jodhpur.

As an extra safety measure for maximum protection of life and property from Earthquake, every construction will be designed at 1 level higher than the applicable seismic zone as per the specifications of Bureau of Indian Standards.
