Sahara Infrastructure launches first township of City Homes (Yashobhoomi, Mumbai, May 11, 2007)

Lucknow: Sahara Infrastructure and Housing on Wednesday launched its first township of the chain of World class Sahara City Homes township project to be developed in 217 Indian cities in Lucknow.

This hi-tech township, to be developed in 200 acres of land with the approximate cost of Rs.2,000 crore, was started by Managing Worker & Chairman of Sahara India Pariwar, Subrata Roy Sahara, who laid a gold brick on Hardoi-Bypass road. Around seven thousand residential units would be constructed under this project in the next 4-5 years. These residential units include high rise, mid rise apartments, individual houses and individual bungalows comprising of one, two, three and four bedroom flats.

Speaking on the occasion, Subrata Roy Sahara said that Sahara India Pariwar believes in the spirit of nationalism, which it seeks to propagate across all sections of the society. For this our each effort is to contribute in building nation. Speaking at the launch of one of the townships, the first in the series, Sushanto Roy, Head, SIH, said that the company had made plans to built townships in 217 Indian cities using more 100 acres few years back which is taking place today. After getting nod from the environment department, the company is in the position to build townships in all the cities. Possession of flats in Lucknow will begin in the year 2009.

The townships in Nagpur and Indore will be launched in the next few days. The company has already begun construction in 80 to 85 cities after acquiring land. In this way, two to three projects will be presented every month.
